A passenger van was engulfed in flames in a freak fire leaving the vehicle completely charred. The cause of the fire was believed to be a short circuit in the engine compartment. The incident happened at Guirim on Saturday evening. The owner of the van Mahadev Morajkar, had just recently done maintenance work on his vehicle in preparation for its upcoming passing test. He said that he had invested a significant amount of money and time into restoring the vehicle the van and performing some engine work, to ensure it passed the test.

As Mahadev was on his way to Mapusa, the van suddenly caught fire, and within moments, the flames had engulfed the entire vehicle. It was a scene of chaos and panic, as Mahadev quickly realized the severity of the situation. He managed to escape the car in time, but the damage had already been done.

The fire department was immediately notified, and they quickly rushed to the site to contain the fire. Their skills and expertise were put to the test as they battled the raging flames. After a few tense moments, they were able to successfully put out the fire. Despite the swift response of the fire personnel, the van was destroyed, leaving behind only a charred and unrecognizable frame.

Thankfully, there were no casualties reported in this incident. However, Mahadev was left devastated at the loss of his van. He estimated a loss of around 60 thousand rupees, which included the cost of the maintenance work he had recently done on the vehicle. It was a hefty sum for a middle-class man like him, and the incident had left him in a state of shock and disbelief.
