MLA Agnelo for a simple B’day

PANJIM: Calangute MLA and Chairman EDC Ltd, Agnelo N Fernandes on the occasion of his birthday on September 2 will be available at St Teresa’s School, Candolim Church Hall, Candolim, from 7.30 pm onwards. General public and well-wishers have been asked by him not to publish any birthday advertisements in the local daily newspaper or bring flowers to the venue.

Workshop on light effects

PANJIM: Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) in collaboration with Ravindra Bhavan, Margao will organise a one-day workshop on light effects for writers, producers and directors of tiatr on September 8 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Joao Agostinho Fernandes Memorial auditorium, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. Satish Gawas, an expert on light effects will guide the participants. The last date to enroll for the workshop is September 1. Interested artistes may confirm their participation with TAG by calling 2230738 or 2230739.

Lecture by Gen Saighal

PANJIM: A Lecture on “How prepared is India to meet China’s Military and Economic Challenge?” Will be delivered on August 31 at The International Centre Goa at 5.30 pm by General Vinod Saighal,  Executive Director of Eco Monitors Society and former Director General of Military Training. The lecture is free and open to all.

Discourse on ‘Guilt-Feeling’

1^st All Goa Islamic Competition

PANJIM: To commemorate Eid, All Goa Muslim will organise ‘1^st All Goa Islamic Competition’ for boys and girls under 18 years on September 4 at Ravindra Bhavan Conference Hall, Margao, from 10 am onwards. The Competition will include Quranic recitation, Naat/Nazm/Hamd and speech on Taouheed (one God). Altogether 12 schools from will participate in the event. The event is open to all.

Charity Gospel Concert by youth of Navelim

PANJIM: The Youth of Navelim, Rays of Hope will organise a Charity Gospel Concert on September 9 at Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium, Margao at 7.30 pm. Goa’s topmost bands, ‘Faith’ and ‘Sky High’ will perform live.  Also, a special interactive session will be held by ‘Built on Solid Rock-Human Life Goa’. The proceeds will be donated to Old Age Home, Navelim and orphanage, Margao.
