PANJIM: State Excise department is likely to open 24-hour control rooms in North and South districts from Thursday to prevent illegal distribution of alcohol, in view of canvassing, and ensuing elections.
Two fully equipped control rooms have already been set up at excise headquarters in Panjim and near Osia complex, Margao.
Sources said that people can tip-off officials about any activity related to the illegal liquor distribution by making calls or sending fax.
