PANJIM: Five days after the tragic incident at Carona, Aldona in which six people died, four of them students, government has announced a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
A government press release says that the Collector and District Magistrate North Goa will conduct Magisterial inquiry into the tragic incident that occurred on February 18, at the Carona
ferry wharf, wherein one passenger bus plunged into the river resulting in the deaths.
“The Collector and District Magistrate North Goa has invited any public or person having any material or evidence, oral or written in connection with the bus accident that took place at Carona, Aldona to be submitted to him to conduct the inquiry. Any suggestions may also be submitted,” the release states.
It further adds that District Collector will be available to any person from February 24, to February 27, 2012 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, excluding Sunday in his office at Panjim for submitting evidence.
