MAYEM(HC): Pale MLA Pratap Gawas inaugurated the hot mixing of road work from Velguem-Gawwada to Voilo Wada in Bicholim on Saturday.
The hot mixing work is being undertaken at a cost of Rs 1.75 crore.
Gawas claimed that most of the development works in Pale constituency have been completed on priority basis.
Sarpanch Geetali Haldankar, Digambar Naik, ZP member Laxmikant Parab, Women Front President Laxmi Madgaonkar, technical assistant Gajanan Desai, engineer Atmaram Gawade, Panch Sadguru Ambre, Rupesh Gawas and Digambar Velguekar were present on the occasion.

PANJIM(HND): A free bone checkup camp was organised recently at Mapusa by Mapusa Navyuvak Mandal and Youth Hostel Association of India, Mapusa unit. 315 persons availed of free check-up at the camp which was sponsored by Pharmed India and Union Pharmacy.
Dr Shivanand Bandekar, HoD of Orthopaedics at Goa Medical College who inaugurated the camp said that regular exercises like stretching and daily walk of at least 3 kms is required to avoid arthritis and to keep oneself healthy and fit. Dr Bandekar also elaborated on various types of Arthritis. He informed that now knee replacement is conducted for Goans at GMC. Newborn children with leg defects should be treated as early as possible, he suggested. Dr Bandekar also answered questions of those present. Dr Vilas Sadekar, Dr Pravin Koppad and Dr Lynette Fernandes examined the patients.
