VASCO: In a new development in the New Vaddem, Vasco vapour cloud explosion case, the complainants – the family members of the deceased Shivani and Jaidevi Singh Chauhan -have alleged that they have been threatened and intimidated by the family members of the accused Anurag Rajawat and charged that the police have completely stopped responding to their calls.

The family also suspects the role of more than one in the explosion and the consequential death of Shivani and Jaidevi Singh Chauhan.

The complainants have submitted the attested copies of the bills of dowry and photographs that they had given during the marriage of Shivani and Anurag.

Dilip Chauhan, the father of deceased Shivani Rajawat and the husband of Jaidevi Chauhan has complained that the relatives of Anurag Rajawat have been continuously threatening and harassing him and his son Shubham Singh Chauhan.

He claimed that the Anurag’s family is working overtime to influence the investigation to weaken the case.

Dilip said, “We are being threatened by Anurag’s the relatives. Anurag’s sister has also reached out saying that they would return the dowry amount on the condition that we take back the case and save Anurag.”

Dilip claimed that despite several calls to inform the Vasco Police regarding the threats, they have not responded to even a single call.”

“A relative of Anurag has been threatening us and the police are least bothered.  We are being treated like the accused in the case. I have lost my daughter and my wife and this is not the treatment the police should give to me,” Dilip claimed.

Meanwhile, the police have still not taken any action against Anurag’s mother, who has also been named as the accused in the dowry harassment case.
