MAPUSA: A 20-bedded Saligao Primary Health Centre (PHC) was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant in the presence of Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar, PWD Minister Deepak Pawaskar, Health Director Dr Jose D'Sa and others.
Sawant while addressing the function said, “Saligao PHC is a classic example of how industrialists and government if come together can create development. Government have not spent money on this project. Service of immunisation to vaccination will be made available at this PHC”.
Saligao Sarpanch Lafira Gomes said, “Having a full-fledged PHC for Saligao was need of the hour as people were forced to travel all the way to Mapusa, Candolim or Porvorim even for basic health checkups”.
Jayesh Salgaonkar Saligao MLA said, “This PHC which caters to almost 26000 population of Saligao constituency. This 20 bedded PHC, which is ready to use, is set up under CSR activities and not government fund. We have also identified land for a full-fledged PHC behind the panchayat”.
