MAPUSA: The Anjuna police on Friday arrested Uganda national Prossy Mawejje Bukirwa (26) for over staying in India.
An offence under section 7 (1) , 7 (3) (iii) of the Foreigners Order 1948 punishable under section 14 of Foreigners Act 1946 has been registered against the accused.
As per information obtained, a police team on doing beat duty at found the Uganda national illegally staying at Bamon vaddo without possessing valid travel documents, thereby contravening the provisions of Foreigners Order 1948 & Foreigners Act 1946.
The Anjuna police stated that they have requested the FRRO Panaji to intimate the Uganda Embassy about the arrest.
Police Sub-Inspector Ashish Porob is further investigating the case under supervision of Police Inspector Prashal Dessai.
