PONDA: Following heavy rainfall in Bhati, Nagle Bhat, Shiroda, field have been submerged due to a breach in the bandhara, resulting in water from the Zuari river entering the fields.
The farmers in the area are demanding a permanent solution to protect the bandharas. This distressing incident which occurred last night, led to significant crop loss for the farmers.
The ryots called on the Agriculture Department to repair the damaged bandharas on an immediate basis. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred, as a similar situation occurred last year when the bandhara burst, allowing river water to flood the agricultural land.
The farmers are understandably frustrated with these recurring events, as they are unable to prevent such natural calamities when the dam breaches and river water inundates their fields.
