MARGAO: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant carried out a surprise inspection of the government-run Multipurpose school complex in Borda on Thursday.
Accompanied by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and other officials, the CM conducted a review of the infrastructure and functioning of the premises and sought information on several issues plaguing the complex.
While the CM admitted that the building was in bad shape, he assured that all maintenance related works would be taken up immediately. The CM, who is also the Education Minister also gave instructions to the officials, regarding the various floors of the building. Attention was also brought to the stagnation of water at certain spots around the building.
Sources added that the inspection was held following criticism of the infrastructure recently and the fact repairs works needed to be taken now during the monsoon period. Sawant also inquired about the education facilities and other resources available to the students.
