Chief Secretary doesn’t deny receiving PI Anjuna’s report, says “everything is there in the papers”

Goa govt maintains silence, even CM doesn’t deny and says “I will deal with it later”

PANJIM: Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, on Friday declined to reveal anything about the purported report submitted by the suspended Anjuna PI Prashal Dessai against the DGP Jaspal Singh, IPS.

When contacted, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, told O Heraldo, “I do not want to reveal anything. Everything is in the papers. I have nothing to add.”

Following outcry over the demolition of a house at Assagao and charges by the Opposition that the police were allegedly involved in the incident, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had asked the Chief Secretary to conduct an inquiry into the incident and to submit the report. Sawant had also further stated that based on the Chief Secretary’s report, stern action will be taken against all those involved.

On the same day, the government had transferred the case from Anjuna police station to the Crime Branch, Ribandar.

Meanwhile, when questioned about the report, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, “I will deal with it later.”
