The electric poles across the State are extensively used to draw loose wires for the OFC of BSNL and private net, cable TV, private connections for personal use, erecting banners/boards for publicity and individual gains and vegetation expanding its habitat.
It is an eyesore to see every alternate pole with so many bunches of wires hanging and cloth banners, besides fixed ones clubbed with clusters of bushes. It is a sheer waste of resources to keep costly wires hanging in coils on poles, at the expense of consumers. The overhead network of telephone and electricity was replaced with underground cables and telephone poles were removed, but electric poles are used by the public without any accountability. When will the concerned department take note of this situation and free the electric poles of all unwanted stuff?
