'Daman & Diu' to be dropped from all Goa acts and legislations

Most Goans of earlier generations used to hearing  "Goa Daman & Diu" in the same breath as a common territory will feel a sense of loss. The Pramod Sawant Government, on Wednesday approved the  proposal to delete words Saman and Diu from all acts & legislations.
Many acts had Daman amd Diu appended to Goa and. called the Goa Daman &Diu act . One of the most important acts was the Goa Daman &Diu Administration Act of 1962

Among other decisions was to grant families of COVID deceased  Rs 2 lakhs: 

On Wednesday, the state Cabinet approved  grants for Covid death families, each family will get ₹ 2 lakhs with an income limit of 8 lakhs. 

Moreover the Cabinet also decided  to reduce monthly rent of cellular companies erecting mobile towers in rural areas to 10 per cent of total rent for a period of five years.

76% have received first dose of vaccine

After the cabinet meet, chief minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said that 8,66,730 people which is 76% of total Goa's population has been administered first dose of vaccines and remaining 24% of population to be covered by July 31. Out of which a total of 10,06,824 doses of Covid 19 vaccination have been administered in the state of Goa as of 6th July 2021

Goa government to give financial assistance of Rs 5000 each as relief to marginalised and unorganised people, who lost their livelihood during pandemic.
