A huge gaping pothole right in the middle of the service road at Guirim which has been unattended to. The service road is used by motorists and pedestrians and keeps getting flooded with the downpour. Sometimes the authorities (PWD) dumps mud in the area which makes the place more slippery as it gets washed off with the rains. Time the goverment convert these potholes into eco-friendly swimming pools and encourage monsoon tourism to fill its coffers.
Unsuspecting road users often end up falling here and on many occasions have sustained severe injuries. Infact there are innumerable potholes all over the road which pose problems for motorists. In olden days, even though there were no engineers to draw plans for road constructions, it was hard to see even a tiny pothole on the road. The fate of our roads today which resemble craters on the moon only speaks volumes of the quality of engineers employed by the goverment. Have they been employed for construction or destruction?
Our politicians who sit in the cozy comfort of their airconditoned chambers and travel in luxurious vehicles at the cost of the taxpayer are insentive to human suffering. While many lives have been lost due to bad roads in Goa, there are others who lie in hospital beds after meeting with road accidents. Will this government act in public interest and repair the potholed roads in the State before more tragedies occur?
Let better counsel prevail.
