HCN turns eight and is raring to grow

PANJIM: Acronyms often get into a world of their own. HCN, an acronym of Herald Cable News, has grown into a responsible and a very proud arm of the Herald family, nurtured in the same founding principles of Herald, adding its own vitality and speed and the power of moving pictures to become Goa’s leading news centric channel whose relevance as an audio visual supplement to Herald’s print offering is only growing.
It turned eight on Thursday, easing into maturity to add to the energy of its youth. The management and the staff of Herald Publications celebrated the occasion by congratulating Team HCN and sharing moments recalling the journey of the channel. On the occasion, the editorial team and the management pledged to strengthen brand HCN and follow the rigourous path of persistent, credible and relevant news to give you a 360 degree view of Goa.
The technical team also unveiled the HCN app for android phones which allows you to watch the channel on your phone in real time, if you are not near a TV or have cable.
HCN plans to increase the quality and quantity of its news bulletins, add to the number of quality shows which are on air – such as Hot Seat, The Morning After, Street Voices, the fortnightly debate as well as entertainment programmes. It will also augment its technology to bring to you more live coverage from all of Goa.
The Herald family looks forward to very exciting times ahead for HCN.
