PANJIM: Director of Health Services, Dr Jose D’Sa, tested positive for COVID-19 as the State registered yet another 400 plus positive cases along with six more deaths on Thursday.

The Health Director has been admitted in a private hospital at Dona Paula. He is said to be asymptomatic. DHS has started testing all doctors and officials, who came in contact with the director. 

As per the bulletin, there were 456 positive cases on Thursday, which took the tally of confirmed cases to 15,483. The active cases are 3445 and the recoveries are now 11,867. The death toll stands at 171.

As per DHS, a 58-year-old man from Taleigao, admitted at Goa Medical College expired on Tuesday, while a 95-year-old man from Margao, admitted at ESI hospital, also expired on the same day. It further said that a 69-year-old man from Margao, admitted at ESI hospital, with co-morbid conditions expired on Wednesday, while an 84-year-old woman from Bambolim, a 65-year-old woman from Paroda, a 54-year-old man from Margao admitted at ESI hospital, with co-morbid conditions expired on Thursday. 

Of 2830 samples, 1953 are negative, 456 are positive and 421 reports are awaited.
