PONDA: Villagers of Kavlem and Bandora are facing significant hardships due to frequent power outages, which are disrupting their daily lives. Housewives, in particular, are finding it difficult to use electrical equipment for cooking and washing clothes.

Tulshidas Naik, a resident of Bandora, expressed his frustration with the recurring outages, stating that it has become a routine issue over the past several days. He noted that in the past two days, there have been power outages every five to ten minutes. Naik called on the officials to identify and rectify the underlying fault. “What’s worse is the staff attached to the electricity department never answer phone calls, and when I tried to contact the Junior Engineer (JE) at the Kavlem office, the phone was not reachable,” he said.

Meanwhile, officials at the Curti Power Sub Station explained that the outages are due to various incidents of trees and branches falling on wires and poles.
