PANJIM: Roque Orlando Costa, former Trade Officer of Brazilian Embassy, New Delhi, and son-of-the-soil from Margao was awarded prestigious Medal of Merit ‘Order of Rio Branco’ and a Diploma of Recognition from Government of Brazil on November 19 on the occasion of the inauguration of exhibition by Brazilian Modernist ‘Roberto Burle Marx’ at Museum of Christian Art, Convent of Santa Monica, Old Goa. H E Andre Aranha Correa do Lago, Ambassador of Brazil in India bestowed upon Mr. Costa the Award.

Orlando’s insignia represents recognition of his hard work with sincerity and dedication to the Brazilian Government during 30 years of service at the Embassy of Brazil in New Delhi.

This honorific Order of Brazil is named in honour of the Brazilian Diplomat Jose Paranhos Baron of Rio Branco. The award ceremony was attended also by His Excellency the Ambassador of Portugal in India, Brazilian Diplomats and local dignitaries.
