PANJIM: A 35-year-old woman delivered a baby in ambulance on Saturday.

In a remarkable display of efficiency and care, Ambulance 108 responded swiftly to an urgent call for a pregnant patient Manju, who was in pre-term labour. Despite the challenges, EMT Ashwini and pilot Omkar Rane successfully delivered the baby in the ambulance while en route to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Panjim from Pilar. The preterm infant, born at 28 weeks, is healthy and active.

“With Dr Alisha's invaluable guidance during the delivery, this incident underscores the life-saving impact of Ambulance 108's services and highlights the dedication and professionalism of the emergency medical team. #TheGoaModel,” Health Minister Vishwajit Rane posted on his X handle.
