PONDA: The toilet at the Ponda KTC bus stand has turned into a nightmare for commuters as it has been flooded with the rains making it inaccessible to the public. The toilet also lacks hygiene with human waste and garbage strewn all around with the waters. The absence of  proper drainage system has rain water to accumulate all over.

With work going on at the NH underpass work here, iron rods, metal sheets have been dumped on the flooded pathway towards toilet entrance making it difficult for commuters to use it.

It may be recalled that the contractor running this toilet earlier had stopped his operations for several months without prior notice.

However following complaints with Deputy Collector by GOACAN Convenor Roland Martins and other social workers, the toilet was made functional but now due to lack of proper drainage system, the premises are flooded again putting commuters to inconvenience.

Meanwhile the new toilet complex block constructed at another location at the KTC bus stand is near completion and would provide relief if it gets ready soon.
