PANJIM: The Superintendent of Police (SP), Crime Branch, Rahul Gupta has said that Pooja Sharma very much remains as an accused.

The original FIR 82/ 2024 dated 23-06-2024 mentioned her an an accused under Sections 365, (Kidnapping and abduction) and 427 read with Section 34 IPC (mischief and causing damage.

Speaking to O Heraldo SP Crime Rahul Gupta said 'the nature of the complaint from the police station to the Crime Branch does not change"

SP Gupta added that though there are two sections i.e. 365 and 427 of IPC in the first FIR more sections and accused persons will continue to be added to the case diary. The recent arrests of bouncers that were present in the mob being added to the FIR.

When he was asked if Pooja Sharma be arrested, he said, "It depends on the emerging facts. We will try to establish what was her role and based on that we will see. It has not been verified whether she is related to a highly placed IPS officer"

Meanwhile commenting on the purported report sent by Anjuna PI levelling serious allegations against the DGP, SP Crime said "It is an unnamed document. We will check it. It is an unsigned and unnamed document so it will be premature to draw any conclusion. Investigation is going on as per the emerging facts. If something comes up related to this matter we will also look into it."

When he was asked to comment on the statements made by Agarwadekar family, he said, "We have received copy of affidavit from the complainant and I got to know that today also they have given some statement. But as things stand, we will call them again for the supplementary statement under 161 CrPC and based on the content of the statement, what they have alleged will included in the investigation and we will see what action can be taken."
