PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Vice-president Sunil Kawthankar on Friday demanded that the State government should immediately relieve DGP Jaspal Singh, place him under suspension and name him as co-accused in the FIR registered against those involved in the demolition of a house at Assagao.
“It is the first time in the history of Goa that a senior most police officer of the rank of DGP has been accused by his own PI of being kingpin of a crime,” he said.
Kawthankar said, adding that this shows that the police officer of the rank of DGP was acting as a broker of land mafia and land shark of Delhi.
Kawthankar alleged that the entire deal involving Pooja Sharma involves a high ranking bureaucrat of the Government of India and top BJP leaders, whose money was being laundered as investment in the properties in Goa, through Sharma.
