PANJIM/CANDOLIM: Two empty bottles of cough syrup having been found in the service apartment and complete silence of accused Suchana Seth the CEO ‘killer mom’ has created new challenges before the police investigating the case.

The Calangute police continued to question Seth in the matter, while some top officials have informed that the accused has claimed that she has not committed the offence.

The investigation of the CEO killer mom case has hit a bit of an initial roadblock due to the constant denial of Suchana Seth in giving any information regarding the crime she is accused in.

The four-year-old son who was allegedly murdered by his mother Suchana Seth, was laid to rest in Bengaluru on Wednesday in presence of his father Venkat Raman.

Police have informed that they will take the accused to the crime scene on Thursday and aim to get more information and insights in the case.

Police Inspector Paresh Naik, who returned to Goa from Karnataka, said that statements of more than 12 persons have been taken.

While Naik maintained that he is yet to interrogate Seth, her estranged husband Venkat Raman has been asked to help in the investigation.

Accused Suchana Seth was sent to the forensic lab for taking samples for evidence to be recorded in the case. She was later taken to the IPHB for check-up. The viscera investigation of the child will reveal what were the cough syrup bottles used for.

The silence of the accused and distorting theories of the death have put the police in a difficult situation. The Police have also informed that Seth has been in touch with a lawyer from the beginning.

Child rights commission saddened over ‘heartbreaking’ tragedy

MARGAO: The Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR) has expressed deep sorrow and concern regarding the tragic incident involving the murder of a 4-year-old child in distressing circumstances, allegedly by the child’s mother.

“This heartbreaking event extends beyond being a mere family tragedy; it serves as a stark reminder of pressing issues related to family stability and mental health within our society,” said GSCPCR Chairperson Peter F Borges.

“Goa SCPCR expresses deep gratitude to the vigilant hotel staff for their quick and dutiful response in alerting the authorities and commends the Calangute Police for their rapid and diligent actions that have been crucial in progressing the ongoing investigation,” Borges added.

“This tragic incident highlights the pressing need for strong family support systems and readily available mental health care services. It underscores the vital connection between the mental well-being of parents and caregivers and the welfare of children, emphasizing the significance of protecting their mental health,” Borges added further.

GSCPCR further called upon the community to strengthen family bonds and address mental health challenges without stigma and said it is crucial for those facing difficulties to seek assistance, and for the broader community to offer unwavering support and understanding.

“Let us transform this heartache into a catalyst for change, working together to build a society where such tragedies are a thing of the past,” Borges added.
