The heart-wrenching saga of Suchana Seth, a 39-year-old CEO and AI expert, took a horrifying turn in Goa as she allegedly murdered her four-year-old son in a service apartment in Candolim. The shocking crime, discovered by alert staff at Sol Banyan Grande, was thwarted by the quick response of Calangute police and the cooperation of a local cab driver.

Suchana Seth, a Harvard alumna with multiple patents, was found in possession of her son's lifeless body, concealed in a suitcase, as she attempted to flee to Bengaluru. The forensic autopsy at Hiriyur Hospital in Karnataka revealed signs of smothering, indicating the heinous act occurred at least 36 hours before her arrest.

Investigations into Suchana's turbulent marriage with her estranged husband, Venkatramana, shed light on the motive behind the crime. Suchana, who checked into the apartment resort on January 6, was in a hurry to check out on January 8. Despite cost-friendly flight suggestions, she opted for a cab to Bengaluru, intending to escape police scrutiny and dispose of her son's body en route.

Alert staff at Sol Banyan Grande, along with the quick response of Calangute police, thwarted Suchana's plan. The tragic incident came to light when the local cab driver raised concerns about the luggage containing the lifeless child.

Suchana was arrested at Aimangala police station in Karnataka and subsequently shifted to Goa on transit remand. The Mapusa Court remanded her to six days of police custody for further interrogation.

Her ex-husband, stationed in Indonesia, rushed to Karnataka upon receiving the devastating news. Suchana, who showed no remorse during the remand hearing, declared she would speak only after consulting her lawyer.

The chilling incident highlights the intersection of personal turmoil, mental health, and the profound impact of domestic disputes on vulnerable family members. The community mourns the loss of the innocent child and awaits further developments in this distressing case.
