PORVORIM: Porvorim Police arrested three persons after they were caught red handed for their involvement in illegal online Poker gaming.

According to sources, the accused were found involved in serious criminal activities of online poker gaming using laptops, mobiles, etc. and on the pretext of electronic gaming, they were passing secret information abroad and to individuals causing harm to the security and sovereignty of the country.

The accused include Shashank Siddharth, Rajnish Kumar and Anup Palod presently residing at PDA Colony, Porvorim.

The accused were charging huge money to share information and were cheating people using deceitful means of betting.

The accused were operating without permission from the competent authority and were siphoning huge money through secret networks and passed secret information that is detrimental to the sovereignty of the State/country.

During the raid, electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, laptops, computers, gaming chips and cash all worth Rs 25,00,000 were seized.

Porvorim police have registered offence under Sections 420, 408, 120-B r/w 34 of the  IPC, Section- 3 and 4 of the Goa Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act and Section 66(D) IT Act.
