Trio nabbed for attempting to attack students at Cujira Education Complex

PANJIM: The Agasaim Police on Wednesday arrested three persons for allegedly attempting to murder a student at the Cujira Education Complex.

The accused has been identified as Joshua Xavier and Zaiculla Khazir, both residents of Caranzalem, and Shoaib Beg, resident of Taleigao.

According to the police, Aiden Fernandes 20, a college student, Cujira Complex, Bambolim, and resident of Taleigao, lodged a complaint stating that between 11 am and 12.30 pm at  the parking lot of Cujira Complex,  Joshua Xavier from Caranzalem and Shoaib  abused him and assaulted his friend Jay Kholi.

Further Zaiculla assaulted the complainant's friend namely Mayank Chavan with fist blows and Chandraprakash Mahabar due to which he fell on the ground and sustained injuries. When the complainant's friend  Shivesh Naik tried to intervene and stop Zaiculla, he sustained injuries on his palm and leg. Zaiculla also tried to stab Jay Kohli with a knife. When Jay Kohli tried to escape, he sustained injuries on his right hand. An offence under section 307, 504 and 506 (ii) read with 34 of IPC has been registered at the Agasaim Police Station.

The accused were arrested after they confessed to the crime, police said.
