29th Gomantak Marathi Literature Conference Sparks Culinary Delights at Traditional Food Festival in Amonem Canacona

The 29th Gomantak Marathi Literature Conference organized by the Biodiversity Management Committee, marked the Traditional Food Festival. Held at Amonem Canacona on Sunday, January 14, the festival, initiated by the Goa State Biodiversity Board, featured an exhibition and sale of Ayurvedic herbs.

Visiting several stalls, locals and residents had the opportunity to showcase and purchase a diverse array of traditional food items. The festival highlighted culinary delights such as Patolyo, Donne, Sanna, Bhakri, Shevyo, Kayri Farre, Kullya Suke, and various scrumptious Ladoos made from millets, Satva, and more.

The festival's inauguration was graced by prominent dignitaries, including was inaugurated by local MLA and Honorable Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Ramesh Tawadkar, who also inaugurated the Festival.

With a focus on promoting traditional food, the festival emerged as a tremendous success, drawing a significant turnout of locals eager to savour the authentic taste of traditional cuisine. Attendees actively participated in both experiencing and selling the region's culinary gems. Notably, the culinary festival also served as a platform for teachers and primary school students from Goa's upper primary levels to learn about and be inspired by the region's rich and fading traditions.
