Anjuna Police station Duty Master suspended; Protests against loud music enter day three

The Duty Master of the Anjuna police station has been suspended after he was found colluding with the clubs and pubs playing loud music. The North Goa Superintendent of Police Akshat Kaushal has confirmed the same. Meanwhile, the protestors and victims of noise pollution and loud music originating from the clubs and pubs will be holding the candlelight vigil for the third consecutive day. The ‘assurance’ of Anjuna PI Paresh Naik that no music would be allowed after 10 pm had fallen flat within four hours as the loud music started again from multiple clubs.

Anjuna PS duty officer PC Rama Parab was suspended for dereliction of duty during the illegal music festival fiasco. Sources say the escort vehicle for senior law officials was delayed, causing them to get stuck in traffic. The same was reported to the senior police officials after which the constable was suspended.

The people of Anjuna Vagator have decided to continue their protest after they realised on Friday that loud music did not stop despite assurances from police.
