In a disturbing incident that unfolded at the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station in Bengaluru, a tech professional was subjected to a sexual assault while deboarding a metro train on Thursday morning. The assailant, identified as Lokesh Achar, allegedly took advantage of the crowded platform during the peak hour, inappropriately touching the victim as she disembarked.

The distressing episode occurred at approximately 9:40 am when the victim, en route to her workplace near Magadi Road, raised the alarm after being assaulted by Achar, who swiftly fled the scene by boarding an escalator. A metro source revealed that Achar, employed in the catering industry with connections in the film industry, possessed two Metro cards.

Responding promptly to the victim's cries for help, security officers at the station apprehended Achar as he attempted to escape on the escalator. The swift action by the security personnel led to Achar's arrest.

Following the incident, the victim received support and counselling from the station staff, and subsequently filed a formal complaint at a local police station. Shockingly, authorities discovered that Achar had a prior criminal record, having been booked in April for the theft of a woman's phone on a city bus. At the time of the metro station incident, he was out on bail for the earlier offence.
