Canacona Hospital has no gynec at night; no operation theatre
Pregnant women have to go to South Goa District Hospital Margao, after 1 pm and at night in case of delivery or emergencies
CANACONA: The Canacona Hospital has no gynaecologist at night. He comes at 9am and leaves by 1 pm. Most of the deliveries take place at night and hence the pregnant women have to be shunted all the way to South Goa District Hospital. In case of a caesarean operation too, the women have to be sent to Margao.
Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress visited the Canacona government hospital and confronted the Health officer Dr Jose Tavares on these issues. They also told him that the hospital does not have a lift nor wheel chairs.
Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress President Beena S. Naik along with South District GS Gasper Coutinho, Jawahar Bal Manch Chairperson Pelajia Raposo & Canacona Mahila Block President Ursila Costa & the Mahila block office bearers visited Canacona Community Health Centre, to voice the peopple’s grievances before the Health Officer.
The Congress delegation brought it to the notice of Health officer Dr Jose Tavares & Sanitary officer Pranay Naik about the lack of facilities due to which the people of Canacona are facing hardships in the hospital & asked them to provide them at the earliest.
