PANJIM:  Due to fingers being pointed to the police from some quarters, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has transferred the investigation of the Assagao house demolition case to the Crime Branch. Also, an inquiry is being conducted by the Chief Secretary and the report will be submitted to Sawant as Home Minister. No one will be spared and no dadagiri against Goans will be tolerated, Sawant said.

On Tuesday night, after returning from New Delhi, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant paid a visit to the Agarwadekars in Assagao and interacted with the Agarwadekar family. CM assured the family that stringent action will be taken against all the perpetrators involved in the crime. Sawant also assured them the government would rebuild their house and the expenses would be recovered from the accused. The work on reconstruction will be started by the PWD in three days. 

Interacting with media after the Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said a team of the PWD would visit the demolished house at Assagao on Thursday and the work on repairing the house will begin in three days. “An inquiry is being conducted by the Chief Secretary. All involved will not be spared. We will not tolerate such things in Goa and against Goans.”

Regarding the land dispute said, “The let the civil matter regarding the property continue in courts. But no one will be allowed to take law into their own hands.”
