Complaint raises concerns over Philatelic Bureau Operations at Post Office
Published on

GOACAN coordinator, Roland Martins, has raised serious concerns regarding the operations at the newly relocated Philatelic Bureau counter. The Bureau, previously situated within the main Post Office, has now been shifted to the old PMG office building across the road, prompting several issues that have raised significant concerns.

Martins highlighted several key challenges, which he witnessed during his recent visit:

Understaffing: The counter, responsible for serving both regular consumers and a sizable membership of approximately 1000 individuals, is managed by just one staff member. This understaffing raises concerns about the quality and efficiency of service provided, given the substantial number of patrons.

Receipt Generation: Upon payment, customers are not provided with a receipt due to the absence of a functional printer. This lack of documentation poses a significant issue in maintaining proper transaction records and accountability.

Security Concerns: Martins expressed worry over the inadequate security measures at the premises, emphasizing that a lone female staff member oversees the operations without sufficient security support.

In his plea for redressal, Martins urged the authorities to take immediate action to address these grievances and rectify the operational shortcomings at the Philatelic Bureau. This complaint has drawn attention to the urgent need for improvements in the management and infrastructure of the Philatelic Bureau, emphasizing the significance of efficient and secure services for the benefit of all consumers and members.
