A heated argument erupted between a resident and tourists regarding photography on Sunday morning in the residential area of Fountainhas, Panjim. The situation escalated when a resident, disturbed by tourists leaning against the walls of their treasured heritage house for photographs, took action by splashing water on the visitors.

Fontainhas, known for its vibrant streets adorned with heritage houses, often attracts tourists and photographers seeking picturesque backgrounds. However, the clash highlighted the simmering tension between residents and visitors, shedding light on the recurring issues faced by locals.

"It's not a backdrop for professional photographers," emphasized Alu Gomes Pereira, resident of Fontainhas, expressing concern over the invasion of privacy and the frequent disturbance caused by tourists. "These are our private heritage houses, not monuments open for public photography," Pereira added, emphasizing the sanctity of these residential spaces.

Residents in the area have long grappled with disturbances ranging from noise pollution to privacy invasion due to the constant influx of tourists and photographers. They call for the government's intervention, urging the implementation of clear guidelines for tourists visiting the area. Residents underlined the need for clear directives to maintain the sanctity of these heritage spaces while accommodating the interest of visitors.
