PORVORIM: The Goa Assembly was adjourned at around 12.46 pm on Monday of the issue of parity in Calling Attention motions between the ruling and opposition benches.
Opposition Leader Yuri Alemao objected on a Point of Order saying that at the Business Advisory Committee meeting it was agreed that if Ruling was allowed one question, Opposition would be allowed one question too, but on Monday both Calling attention motions of the ruling were listed.
The issue started when the calling attention motion of Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar was called. Opposition Leader said at the BAC meeting it was agreed that one calling attention motion of the ruling and one of the opposition should be allowed
Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar assured that from today (Monday) onward that would be followed, but Yuri said this assurance was given before too that this practice would be followed.
The entire Opposition then rushed to the well of the House and due to the impasse the House was adjourned till 2.30pm.
