PERNEM: Due to the ongoing six-lane corridor construction work at Porvorim, the Goa Traffic Police have begun diverting all Goa-Maharashtra border heavy vehicles and state buses. State buses and other vehicles heading to Panjim have been re-routed through the Banda-Dodamarg road, while trucks and goods carriers are restricted to nighttime travel.

As the six-lane corridor construction is starting at Porvorim, the Goa Traffic Police have implemented traffic diversions for all Goa-Maharashtra border heavy vehicles and state buses. State buses and vehicles heading to Panjim are now being redirected through Banda Dodamarg road.

Meanwhile, trucks and goods carriers are restricted to traveling at night. From 5 am to 10 pm, trucks are halted and only allowed to proceed after 10 pm.

According to the press release published by the Department of Information and Publicity, the District Magistrate North Goa has temporarily prohibited the movement of Heavy Goods Vehicles entering Goa and shall be diverted at Patradevi to proceed via Banda- Dodamarg-Bicholim-Sanquelim for onward journey till the completion of the construction of National Highway-66 Elevated Corridor Project.

All Heavy Goods Vehicles proceeding towards Talukas of the Bicholim, Sattari, Tiswadi, and South Goa District shall be diverted at Banda to proceed via Dodamarg- Bicholim throughout the day and night.

The Heavy vehicles desiring to proceed to Pernem and Bardez Taluka shall stop and park on the side of the road from Patradevi to Insuli Check Post from 6:00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. and shall enter Goa via Patradevi Check Post between 10.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m.
