A disturbing incident unfolded at the Kuttipuram bus stand when a man was discovered consuming raw cat meat, leading to his admission to the Kozhikode government mental hospital. Hailing from the Dhubri district of Assam, the man's erratic behaviour prompted Kuttipuram police to transfer him to the mental health facility following preliminary evaluations at the taluk hospital.

The unsettling event occurred around 5 pm when the neatly dressed man was observed consuming something from a packet. Nearby shopkeepers, alarmed by a foul odour emanating from the pack, investigated the situation. Shocked onlookers promptly notified the police upon witnessing the man devouring raw cat meat, expressing concern for his well-being.

According to Kuttipuram Inspector of Police P K Padmarajan, although the individual disappeared from the scene on Saturday evening, he was located near Kuttipuram railway station on Sunday morning. Further inquiry revealed that he had travelled from Chennai to Kozhikode, where his brother resides, before going missing. His brother informed authorities of his disappearance from Chennai.

Subsequently, the man was transferred to the Kozhikode Mental Hospital for comprehensive examination and treatment. This distressing incident underscores the critical importance of mental health awareness and support systems in communities.
