Mapusa Court Denies Bail to Sachin Kurup in Culpable Homicide Case

Mapusa Court denied bail to Sachin Kurup, the driver of the Haryana-registered SUV involved in the Vagator accident case. The collision resulted in the death Remedia Mary Albuquerque, a 57-year-old resort owner who was on the phone outside the reception area at the time of the tragic incident. The pathology report for Sachin Venu Gopal Kurup, the 42-year-old Pune resident facing culpable homicide charges in connection with a reckless driving incident at a Vagator resort, has revealed the absence of narcotic substances or alcohol in his blood samples. Mapusa Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jivba Dalvi confirmed that the report yielded negative results. Initial tests for alcohol had also returned negative when Kurup's blood samples were sent to North Goa District Hospital and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Verna, after his arrest.


Kurup, driving a Haryana-registered SUV, collided with 57-year-old Remedia Mary Albuquerque, a resort owner, resulting in her tragic death as she spoke on the phone outside the reception area. Two resort staff members, Shiv Mangal Dindo and Rupa Paras, sustained injuries in the incident. The accused, who was reportedly visiting a friend at the resort, faced charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. He was initially remanded to four days in police custody and later placed in 14-day judicial custody.  Mapusa Court denied bail to Sachin Kurup in connection with the Vagator accident case.
