Margao Police Apprehends 52 year old lady for Alleged Kidnapping of 2-Month-Old Infant at Margao Railway Station

The Margao Police have successfully arrested Nataline Almeida (52) W/o Alleluia Joao Franklin George Fernandes, aged - 52 years Resident of H. No. 493, Near St. Cruz Chapel, Mascarenhas Waddo, Goa velha and presently residing at above Shubham Hotel, Shubham Building, Shantinagar, Aquem Baixo, Navelim Constituency, Salcete Goa.for the alleged kidnapping of a 2-month-old baby from a homeless couple at Margao Railway Station. The incident, reported by Ashwini, wife of Sham Waghmare, occurred on February 20, 2024, between 13:30 hrs and 14:30 hrs.

Ashwini Waghmare W/o Sham Waghmare, aged - 35 years Occ. Housewife and Labour Resident of opposite to the Railway Protection Force Station, on the Footpath, Outside Konkan Railway Station, Margao Goa and native of Sidharth Colony, Saat Number Galli, Chembur, Mumbai, Maharashtra, lodged a complaint with the Margao Railway Police, stating that the accused had forcibly taken her infant daughter from her lawful custody outside Konkan Railway Station, Margao. The swift response by the Railway Police led to the apprehension of Nataline Almeida.

The incident has been registered under FIR No. 06/24, invoking Section 363 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 8 (4) of the Goa Children Act 2003. The investigating officer assigned to the case is PSI Nikesh Shirvoikar.

The Railway Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping, aiming to unravel the motive behind the crime. The arrested individual, Nataline Almeida, will face legal proceedings for the charges brought against her.
