VERNA: In a tragic incident, Lionel lobo was found murdered at an under construction site at Cortalim on late Tuesday night. Within 24 hours, the Verna police arrested his friend Alex Coutinho (34) for murdering his friend with a cement block. The dispute arose over a bottle of alcohol.
The accused was also present at the crime scene during the police investigation and had attempted to mislead the police.
On Tuesday, 32 year old Lionel lobo was found murdered at an under construction site at Cortalim on Tuesday late at night. The victim’s head was smashed with a cement block head. The CCTV footage was recovered by the police based on which the nailed the culprit.
Verna PI, South Goa SP and police were present at the scene. The owner of the building site Barad stated that he received a call at 7 pm alerting him to the murder, while he was at home. He informed the authorities right away.
