PANJIM: While police are looking for Assagao demolition case accused Pooja Sharma, the defence lawyer Surendra Desai has said she will be present if required. Police may arrest her if she appears, he argued. When Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was asked the question about the Assagao demolition case, he walked away.

The arguments over the anticipatory bail plea of accused Pooja Sharma, concluded on Monday. The public prosecutor contended that the custodial interrogation of accused Pooja Sharma is required due to the gravity of the offence. He argued that Pooja conspired in the demolition and that her custodial interrogation is necessary to establish her role and gather evidence, particularly regarding financial transactions.

“Today the public prosecutor gave his reply and I filed by rejoinder. The matter is listed for orders on Wednesday afternoon. There was no conspiracy entered into by my client. Let them interrogate me, I’m saying give me protection. If my client is required she will come. If she comes she may get arrested. Because there is no order,” Senior counsel and defence lawyer Surendra Desai told media.

The court has reserved its order on the anticipatory bail plea of prime accused Pooja Sharma for Wednesday afternoon.
