town were also discussed at the meeting.

Costa, Councillor, Sanguem Municipality said, “The first important issue which
was discussed was dumping of garbage by the Sanguem Municipality near the cemetery.
All the councilors and the chairperson has agreed to remove the garbage. In a
very special way I would like to thank Herald and Herald TV for taking up this
issue. This issue also affects the tribal centre where garbage was being
dumped. Thanks to you the issue has been taken up for finding a solution.”
“The second
issue which was taken up was that of the town hall which is in a precarious
condition as stated by the Goa Engineering College report. This has to be
demolished,” De Costa said.
Sanguem Municipality Chairperson Archana Gaonkar said that the municipal council will lift dumped garbage as soon as possible, and all members will find a solution for it. “Since this issue has been highlighted, we will try to find a solution to the garbage issue,” she said.
Vice

MRF shed at Gunjemol, but then there was opposition and it could not be
executed. Presently we are segregating the garbage and sending it to Cacora. We
had allowed dumping of garbage near the cemetery but I do not know what they
have thrown there. We have not given them to throw anything else there. Regarding the stray cattle we cannot house
them since there is no place to keep the stray cattle.”
