Amidst shock and concern over the inexplicable draining of Bondvol Lake, the St. Cruz Village Panchayat took decisive action following a thorough inspection of the site. The once-filled-to-capacity lake was found completely drained, sending ripples of worry through the community after the discovery last Friday.
The recent shocking revelation of the lake being drained completely has raised alarming questions about its preservation and the potential ecological repercussions. The members of Village Panchayat, in a swift response to this distressing incident, have agreed to fortify the security measures at Bondvol Lake and decided to install CCTV cameras at the site to keep watch. The decision to install CCTV surveillance at the site aims not only to monitor the area but also to prevent any unauthorized activities that could threaten the lake's integrity.
"The sudden draining of Bondvol Lake has not only stunned us but has sparked a sense of urgency to protect this natural treasure. The panchayat is with locals and we will do all the things to protect the lake. We will also request police to have patrolling once a week. This is unfortunate, however, we will take all the necessary steps to avoid the damage." expressed a concerned member of the Village Panchayat.
He further said that the report will be made and will be written to WRD, Goa State Biodiversity Board, and even the police to take necessary actions.
