Theft of Gold and Silver Ornaments in Siolim: Accused Apprehended and Remanded in Custody

In a reported incident at Siolim Tarchibhat, Siolim, an alleged theft involving gold ornaments, silver ornaments, and cash has led to the arrest of the accused, who is now in police custody. 

The complaint was filed by 59-year-old Umesh on Wednesday, January 31st, at Anjuna Police Station, detailing an incident on January 8th. According to the complaint, an unidentified individual unlawfully entered Umesh's residence at 12:52 hrs by forcefully opening the latch of the main door and subsequently stealing gold ornaments, silver ornaments, and cash.

An official case under Anjuna P.S. Cr. No. 16/2024, invoking sections 454 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code, has been registered in connection with the incident. The identification of the accused, Parshuram, 27 years old and a resident of Vijayapura, Karnataka, was facilitated by CCTV footage. He was arrested on January 31, 2024, and a portion of the stolen items was recovered from his possession.

The accused is currently in Police Custody remand as the investigation continues. PSI Ashish B. Parab is overseeing the ongoing inquiry, under the supervision of PI Prashal Dessai, SDPO Mapusa Shri Sandesh Chodankar, and the overall guidance of SP North Nidhin Valson, IPS.
