Two arrested in Assagao house demolition case; Congress demands arrest of Pooja Sharma

ASSAGAO: Two
persons have been arrested in the Agarwadekar’s Assagao house demolition case,
according to Anjuna Police. They are Arshad Paja the main accused and
alleged mastermind in bringing bouncers and bulldozer to the site and Pradeep
Rana, the JCB operator. They have been arrested under Sections 365, 425 read
with Section 34 of IPC.
Meanwhile,
a Congress delegation visited the Agarwadekar family in Assagao. GPCC President
Amit Patkar gave an 24 hour ultimatum of Goa CM Pramod Sawant to arrest the purchaser
Pooja Sharma within 24 hours in connection with the demolition of the house of
Agarwadekars.
Leader of
Opposition Yuri Alemao demanded a judicial inquiry into the case
under Retd High Court Judge. Congress President Amit
Patkar urges CM to probe the DGP's role in the case.
BJP MLAs
Michael and Delilah Lobo also met the Agarwadekar family on Tuesday. Michael
Lobo said goans had become a soft target for outsiders. He questioned who would
be responsible if anything happens to Pradeep Agarwadekar who is ailing? He
also said that chief minister Pramod Sawant had directed the police to file an
FIR after he came to know of the case.
Siolim MLA
Delilah Lobo said that the Agarwadekar family had been dragged to the SIT by
Pooja Sharma for a small plot of 600 sqm. The SIT is supposed to deal with big
land frauds she said.
Sarpanch
Hanuman Naik demanded the arrest of Pooja Sharma. He also said that a new house
has to be built for the Agarwadekars.
