PORVORIM: The annoying and frustrating issue of absence of village panchayat secretaries and staff due to which people have to suffer made it to the Goa Assembly on Thursday.
The issue was raised by Maem MLA Premendra Shet wherein he pointed out to the repeated absence of secretaries and panchayat staff. He also asked to relieve secretaries of additional charge and fill vacant posts.
Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho said that some VP staff had interfered with biometric machines which had been installed to play truant.
He assured to introduce AI facial recognition attendance by end of January 2025 so that not only attendance but work load too could be monitored centrally.
