Ramoji Rao, the visionary founder of Eenadu and Ramoji Film City, breathed his last on Saturday morning at 3:45 am in Hyderabad. The 87-year-old media icon had been undergoing treatment at Star Hospital, where he succumbed to complications.
Ramoji Rao was admitted to Star Hospitals on June 5 due to respiratory distress and hypertension. Despite medical efforts, including the placement of a stent in his heart and ventilation support in the ICU, his condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to his demise.
The veteran entrepreneur had successfully battled colon cancer a few years ago, exhibiting resilience in the face of adversity.
Rao's legacy is unparalleled in the Indian media and entertainment landscape. As the head of the Ramoji Group, he spearheaded numerous successful ventures, including the world-renowned Ramoji Film City, Eenadu newspaper, ETV Network of TV channels, and Usha Kiran Movies production house.
