Yashasvi Jaiswal etched his name into the record books with a phenomenal knock in the ongoing India vs England 3rd Test at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. The 22-year-old opener's breathtaking innings saw him break several records, making him only the third Indian to achieve back-to-back double centuries in Test cricket after Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli.

Yashasvi's innings, reminiscent of Virender Sehwag's aggressive style, left the English bowlers reeling on Day 4. His unbeaten 214 included 14 boundaries and a remarkable 12 sixes, equalling the record for the most sixes in a Test innings set by Wasim Akram.

What particularly impressed cricket enthusiasts and pundits alike was Yashasvi Jaiswal's maturity and adaptability. After a cautious start on Day 3 when India lost Rohit Sharma early in the second innings, Yashasvi unleashed his attacking prowess, scoring 65 runs off just 49 balls.

Despite retiring hurt due to a back spasm on Saturday evening, Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the crease on Sunday morning with a license to go big, contributing significantly to India's pursuit of a 500-plus lead. His partnership with fellow Mumbaikar Sarfaraz Khan, which yielded 172 runs in just 26.2 overs, made batting look effortless.

Here is the list of records that Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved in the Rajkot Test:

Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first Indian batter to hit more than one double hundred in Tests against England.

He became the third Indian, following Virat Kohli and Vinod Kambli, to score double centuries in successive Tests.

•       Yashasvi joined the elite club alongside Vinoo Mankad and Virat Kohli as the third Indian to score more than one double hundred in a Test series.

His 12 sixes equalled the record held by Wasim Akram for the most sixes in a Test innings.

Yashasvi set a new benchmark by hitting 22 sixes in the series, surpassing Rohit Sharma's previous record of 19 against South Africa in 2019.

He became the first Indian to convert his first three scores of 100 and more into 150-plus scores.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's exceptional performance not only secured India's dominance in the series against England but also showcased his potential as a formidable force in Test cricket.
