PANJIM: Ambelim Sports Club defeated holders and strong contenders, Minerva FC, Punjab, 8-2, to enter the semi-final of Futsal Club Nationals, organised by All-India Football Association, being played at Gujarat.
Ambelim were leading by 3 goals during half time, the goal scorers being Fredsan Marshal, Clive Miranda and Michael Silva. Minerva FC also tried hard to score but Ozen Silva, in the Ambelim goal was at his best, blocking each and every effort by the Minerva team. Two quick goals by Ronaldo Pereira put the match out of Minerva's grip. Lyndon Cardozo and Frazier Cardozo added a goal each to make it 8-0. Samson and Naoba scored for Minerva to make it 8-2.
