MANDREM: Assonora United advanced to the semi-finals of the 2nd Rosary Cup Mandrem 2024 by defeating Betalbatim Sporting Club, 4-1, in a penalty shootout, at the Mandrem village panchayat ground.
The first half ended goalless despite a brilliant save by Betalbatim goalkeeper Milton D’Souza in the 23rd minute. In the second half, Assonora’s Prajot Naik missed a golden opportunity in the 53rd minute, and Dylan Rodrigues of Betalbatim missed the target in the 56th minute. The match ended 0-0 at full time.
In the tie-breaker, Assonora scored through Sattyam, Sunny, Vineet, and Sunil, while Gladson was the lone scorer for Betalbatim.
Harsh Bhagat of Assonora United was awarded man-of-the-match by Sarvesh Mavlankar, Dunes Sports Club secretary.
