RAIA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, triumphed over Goa Velha Sports Club with a decisive 6-0 victory, advancing to the quarterfinals of the 25th All-Goa Our Lady of Merces 8-a-side inter-village football tournament, organised by Sirlim Sports Club and played at Chinchinim Church ground on Wednesday.
Hanslum Furtado who broke the deadlock in the 14th minute, giving Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, the lead. The score doubled in the 26th minute when a cross from Don Bosco’s Elroy led to an own goal by Goa Velha’s defender Parsil Kankakar, making it 2-0 by halftime.
In the second half, Don Bosco Oratory, Cliff Baretto scored in the 39th minute, followed by Edison Dais in the 44th minute, extending the lead to 4-0.
Glen Fernandes and Richie each added quick goals in the 43rd and 47th minutes, respectively, sealing the 6-0 victory for Don Bosco.
